Marijana Pocrnić diplomirala je 2015. godine na Kemijskom odsjeku Prirodoslovno-matematičkog fakulteta Sveučilišta u Zagrebu.
Od 2017. godine zaposlena je kao stručni suradnik u Zavodu za analitičku kemiju Kemijskog odsjeka Prirodoslovno-matematičkog fakulteta, a u akademskoj godini 2018./2019. upisala je poslijediplomski studij na Kemijskom odsjeku Prirodoslovno-matematičkog fakulteta, smjer Analitička kemija. U tijeku je izrada doktorske disertacije.
Dobitnica je četiri CEEPUS stipendije u akademskim godinama od 2017./2018. do 2022./2023. za jednomjesečne boravke na sveučilištima u Pragu, Budimpešti i Pečuhu.
U svom znanstvenom i stručnom radu bavi se razvojem i validacijom analitičkih metoda tekućinske kromatografije i vezanog sustava tekućinske kromatografije i spektrometrije masa visokog razlučivanja, kao i istraživanjem poboljšanja topljivosti teško topljivih lijekova.
Neposredna je voditeljica 9 diplomskih radova. Koautor je 12 znanstvenih radova te 22 kongresna priopćenja.
