Croatia is a European country with surface area of 56.578 square kilometers of land and 31.067 square kilometers of sea. It is situated on contact of Central, Southeast and Mediterranean Europe. Croatia is famous for its unusual shape which is the reason of great natural, climate and cultural diversity on small area. It consists of three main geographical regions: the Adriatic (coastal) region with more than 1000 islands and islets, the Dinaric (highland) region and the Pannonian (lowland) region. According to the latest population census Croatia has a population of 4,2 million.
Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, is the economic, cultural and political center of the country and also the largest city. The city is located in the southwestern part of the Pannonian Plain and by its history and culture, Zagreb is a central European city, city of parks, unusual museums, vibrant food markets, everyday cafe culture and street festivals. And if you get enough of urban spaces, Nature Park Medvednica can be reached in only 30 minutes from the city center. The surrounding areas of Zagreb are particularly attractive and very well known for vineyards and wine roads, castles and spas. The University of Zagreb is the oldest university in Croatia and among the oldest one in Europe. It was founded in 1669 and in 2019 celebrated its 350th anniversary. At the University of Zagreb scientific and artistic work is carried out at 30 faculties and 3 art academies with around 70.000 students.

How to get to & from the Airport:
ZAGREB AIRPORT SHUTTLE BUS
The scheduled airport shuttle is operating between the Airport and the Zagreb Central Bus Terminal. The bus runs every 30 minutes and costs 35 HRK (around 5 EUR).
ZAGREB PUBLIC TRANSPORT BUS (ZET)
Departures are scheduled every 35 minutes. First departure on weekdays and Saturdays is at 04:20AM and on Sundays at 05:20AM, while the last departure is every day at 00:15AM. The price is 10 HRK (around 1,5 EUR).
TAXI / RENT-A-CAR
The taxi stand for arriving passengers will be available at the Passenger Terminal, located in the vicinity of the Ground Floor, Arrivals level of the Terminal. The price for a trip to the city centre is around 150-300 HRK (around 20-40 EUR) depending on your final destination in Zagreb. Remember to agree upon price before taking the trip.
Rent-a-car service is available at the airport.
