All teaching activities will be held in Croatian. However, foreign students in mixed groups will have the opportunity to attend additional office hours with the lecturer and teaching assistants in English to help master the course materials. Additionally, the lecturer will refer foreign students to the corresponding literature in English, as well as give them the possibility of taking the associated exams in English. |

COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: The aim of the course is acquirement of skills for application of numerical methods by computer implementation. The emphasise is on better understanding the terms: approximation, perturbation, stability. Unlike the course Scientific computing 1, in this course a graphic environment like MATLAB is used (since in modern engineering applications, modelling, analysis and numerical computing are performed by sophisticated packages like MATLAB). Thus, the students are exempt from programming details, and they are enabled to experiment with more complicated study problems. Thereby, this course is a tutorial for modelling and computing in the same time. |
