Description:
COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
The main aim of theis course is to develop basic principles of presenting the images of geometric objects, i.e. figures and solids of a three dimensional space, on a two dimensional plane (methods of projecting). Besides, student will get acquainted with a standard computer drawing software.

COURSE DESCRIPTION AND SYLLABUS:
1. Introduction. Perspective affinity and collineation in a plane. Ellipse as an affine image of a circle. Conics as collinear images of a circle.
2. Monge projection. Horizontal, frontal and profile planes. Plan, frontal and profile view. The projection of a point and a line. True length of a segment. True size of an angle between a line and a principal plane. Traces of a plane. Special lines in a plane. Problems concerning position. Problems concerning metrics. Side view. Rotation. Figures in a general plane. Visibility. Solids in a special position. Solids in a general position. Plane intersections of a solid. Rectification of an arc. Developments. Intersections of two solids.
3. Axonometry. Oblique axonometry. Trace triangle and reduction ratios. Other types of axonometry: orthogonal axonometry. Oblique projection.
