Description:
Learning outcomes:
LO_1 properly handle laboratory equipment
LO_2 apply safety rules at work
LO_3 acquire basic techniques of laboratory work
LO_4 use theoretical knowledge in the experimental work
LO_5 develop the power of observation and exact recording of experimental data
LO_6 scientifically correct interpretation of results of the measurements

Course content:
1st_2nd week_Halogen elements (obtaining and properties of chlorine, potassium chlorate and hydrogen chloride)
3th_4th week_Chalcogens elements (obtaining and properties of oxygen, the properties of elemental sulfur, preparation and properties of sulfur(IV) oxide)
5th_6th week_The elements nitrogen groups (obtaining and properties of ammonia, nitrogen(I) oxide, nitrogen(II) oxide, nitrogen(IV) oxide)
7th_8th week_Transition elements (preparation of chromium alum or iron(II) sulfate heptahydrate, tetraamminecopper(II) sulfate monohydrate
9th_10th week_Chemical kinetics (dependence of the rate of chemical reaction on temperature, concentration and catalyst)
11th week_Equilibrium of chemical reactions (hydrolysis, solubility product)
12th_13th week_Electrolysis and galvanic cell (relative strength of oxidizing and reducing agents, preparing galvanic cell, electrolysis process with soluble and insoluble anode, Faraday's laws of electrolysis)
14th_15th week_Given experiment (Ion exchange or recoupment)
