Description:
Objectives of the course:
The aim of the course is to understand the role of water resources in spatial systems, especially as a key element of sustainable development. In a philosophical sense, the goal is a deeper development of awareness of water as a strategic resource of the 21st century. The practical goal is training for independent hydrogeographic analysis of an area.

Expected learning outcomes at subject level:
Understanding the place and role of applied hydrogeography in the constitution of water science.
Knowledge of water as a natural geographical element and its role in geosystems.
Knowledge of the cause-and-effect relationships between water and society.
Ability to independently collect and interpret hydrological data.
Abilities and skills related to independent processing of hydrological data and creation of graphic and cartographic representations of processing results.
The ability to interpret the need to preserve water resources and to discuss the preservation of the legal principle of water as a common good, while respecting the principle of fair distribution of water resources.
Understanding the principles of sustainable development and knowing the key role of water resources in sustainable development.
