The Faculty Council of the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb (hereinafter: the PMF), pursuant to Articles 32(1)(19), and 76 of the Faculty Statutes, announces the following:

C A L L   F O R   A P P L I C A T I O N S

for the appointment 

1) to the expert category I position – expert associate in the science and higher education system in natural sciences, the field of chemistry, the branch of biochemistry and medical chemistry, for an indefinite term and on a full-time basis, at the Division of Biochemistry of the PMF Department of Chemistry- 1 person.

2) an associate to the associate category I position - assistant in natural sciences, the field of physics, the branch of (experimental) physics of condensed matter, for a fixed term and on a full-time basis, in the framework of the Croatian Science Foundation programme: “Young Researchers’ Career Development – Training New Doctoral Students within investment C3.2 R2-I1 ‘Developing a stimulating career advancement model and conducting leading scientific research in STEM and ICT’ (NPOO-DOK-2023-10)”, to work on the following project: „Functional complex materials: electron subsystems and wave functions,“ at the Division of Experimental Physics of the PMF, Department of Physics – 1 person

3) an associate to the associate category I position –assistant in natural sciences, the field of physics, for a fixed term and on a full-time basis, in the framework of the Croatian Science Foundation programme: “Young Researchers’ Career Development – Training New Doctoral Students within investment C3.2 R2-I1 ‘Developing a stimulating career advancement model and conducting leading scientific research in STEM and ICT’ (NPOO-DOK-2023-10)”, to work on the ERC Synergy project: "Molecular origins of aneuploidies in healthy and diseased human tissues – ANEUPLOIDY,“ at the Division of Theoretical Physics of the PMF, Department of Physics – 1 person

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

The Call is open to applicants of either gender on equal terms.

In addition to the general terms and conditions of employment, for any point of the Call the applicants must satisfy the requirements set out in the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette No 119/22).

 

For point 1, the applicants must enclose the following with their respective applications: a CV, the relevant diploma, a proof of citizenship.

 

For points 2 and 3, the applicants must enclose the following with their respective applications: a CV, the relevant diploma, the transcript of academic grades achieved at the level of the undergraduate, graduate or integrated studies; a proof of citizenship.

 

For point 1, the applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

- to have completed a university graduate study programme of CHEMISTRY, research-oriented; a university graduate study programme of MOLECULAR BIOLOGY; a university integrated undergraduate and graduate study programme of BIOLOGY AND CHEMISTRY, teaching-oriented.

- additional condition: - the knowledge of biochemistry, based on the transcript of academic grades achieved in the undergraduate, graduate or integrated studies.

 

The applicants under point 1 should enclose with their application a proof of eligibility under the additional terms and conditions in accordance with the Ordinance on Additional Terms and Conditions for Appointment into Grades and the Corresponding Positions at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. The applicants under point 2 must satisfy the following conditions:

-  to have completed a relevant graduate or integrated study programme in natural sciences, the field of physics;

-  to be eligible for enrolment in the doctoral study programme (this requirement is not applicable to the candidates who are already doctoral students – such candidates should enclose a proof of enrolment in the doctoral study programme).

 

The applicants under point 3 must satisfy the following conditions:

-  to have completed a relevant graduate or integrated study programme in natural sciences, the field of physics, research-oriented;

-  to be eligible for enrolment in the doctoral study programme (this requirement is not applicable to the candidates who are already doctoral students – such candidates should enclose a proof of enrolment in the doctoral study programme).

 

For all points of the Call the applicants who qualify for employment preference under the special regulations should refer to the preference in their application and enclose therewith all evidence as listed in the special regulations governing the priority placement rights, as well as all evidence of eligibility and of absence of any impediment to their exercising of the priority placement rights as stipulated under the special regulations. Such applicants will be given employment preference within this Call over other candidates, under the same terms and conditions of the Call, based on a duly completed, complete and timely application, provided they meet all the terms and conditions of the Call and that they have achieved top scores in the selection procedures.   

 

An application shall be deemed duly completed and complete if it contains all the data and the supporting documents in keeping with the Call requirements. Incomplete, disorganised, and late applications shall not be taken into consideration, nor will there be a subsequent invitation to the applicants to amend such applications.

 

Foreign nationals applying under point 1 should provide evidence of Croatian proficiency.

 

Points 2 and 3 of this Call are open to the candidates who will be enrolled in the doctoral study programme no later than the academic year 2024/2025 (a later enrolment in a doctoral study programme may be approved in exceptional cases).

 

Any candidate applying under this Call who is eligible under the formal terms and conditions of the Call may be invited to an interview as part of the selection procedure.

 

A separate e-mail invitation with the information concerning the time and place of the interview will be sent to the applicants invited to take part in this selection procedure.

 

Any applicant who fails to attend the interview at the time and the place as specified in the separate invitation, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the Call proceedings.

 

The PMF collects and processes personal data of the applicants taking part in the Call for Applications for positions with the aim of verifying qualifications and eligibility in accordance with the Decision on the Collection, Protection and Processing of Personal Data (CLASSIFICATION No: 035-01/18-01/5; FILE No:251-58-10201-18-2).

 

The closing date for submission of applications for point 1 of the Call is 38 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette. 

The closing date for submission of applications for point 2 of the Call is 91 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette.

The closing date for submission of applications for point 3 of the Call is 60 days after the publication of the Call in the Official Gazette.

 

The results of the Call will be published on the official website of the PMF: www.pmf.unizg.hr (Competitions).
