Basic principles of nuclear magnetic resonance. Nuclear spin and resonance. Pulse NMR. Time and frequency domain. The vector model. NMR Spectrometer. Spin interactions. Coherence. Polarisation transfer. The role of pulsed filed gradients. Double resonance and multi-pulse one-dimensional NMR techniques. Correlation techniques. Direct and indirect two-dimensional techniques. Nuclear Overhauser Effect. Homonuclear two-dimensional sequences: COSY, DQCOSY, NOESY, trNOESY, ROESY, TOCSY. Heteronuclear two-dimensional sequences: HETCOR, HMQC, HSQC, HMBC, HSQC-TOCSY. Solid state NMR. The application of multi-dimensional techniques for determination of 2D structure of organic and biomolecules. NMR in conformational analysis. The application of NMR techniques such as diffusion NMR spectroscopy, saturation transfer difference and SAR by NMR to study molecular interactions. |
