The signal and noise. Spectroscopy in time and frequency domain. Fourier transformation (FT) and spectroscopy. Interferometry and FT in infrared spectroscopy (IR). Dispersive and FT Raman spectroscopy. Near IR spectroscopy (NIR). Two-dimensional IR spectroscopy. Time-resolved vibrational spectroscopy (rapid scan and step scan). Pulse nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques. FT in NMR; two- and multidimensional techniques. NMR parameters (chemical shifts, couplings, relaxation times) and molecular structure. NMR and conformational analysis. Molecular interactions studied by NMR and drug design. Mass spectrometry (MS). Mass analysers; sector, quadrupol, ion cyclotron resonance and FT (FT ICR), time of flight (TOF).
