Born in Zagreb on 1 November 1962. He graduated in geography at the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb in 1987, where he also received his Master's degree in 1990 and Doctorate in 1994. From 1988 to 1991, he was employed at the City of Zagreb Automated Data Processing Centre, and has been at the Department of Geography since 1991. He was named an assistant professor in 1999, associate professor in 2004, full professor in 2012 and granted tenure in 2016. He was Assistant Dean for Marketing from 2004 – 2006, and Department head from 2007 – 2009 and again from 2015 – 2017. He teaches the courses Asian geography, Industrial geography, Political geography, Regional development, International organisations and EU funds, Project management, and Territorial cooperation. In the Doctoral study programme, as a part of the Research methodology 5 module, he supervised six doctoral candidates. He has published 66 scientific papers.
