Together with the Undergraduate Research Programme in Geography and Integrated Studies in Geography and History, the Department of Geography offers five programmes at the graduate level. There is also an undergraduate and graduate course of study in environmental sciences, which is a result of cooperation between the departments of Geography, Geology and Biology at the Faculty of Science.
Around 40 employees work in research, teaching, professional, and administrative activities at the Department. Altogether there are around 450 students in undergraduate, graduate, integrated, and doctoral studies. Lectures take place in one large lecture hall, several smaller seminar rooms and a computer room. The student office is open for students every day from 11:00 to 13:00. Our students actively participate in different exchange programmes, such as Erasmus and CEEPUS. The Department of Geography receives a number of foreign students every year, mostly from Poland, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, and other parts of Europe.
