However, foreign students in mixed groups will have the opportunity to attend additional office hours with the lecturer and teaching assistants in English to help master the course materials. Additionally, the lecturer will refer foreign students to the corresponding literature in English, as well as give them the possibility of taking the associated exams in English.

Description:

COURSE AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: Introduce students to models which lead to partial differential equations, and to basic properties and classical methods of solving partial differential equations.

COURSE DESCRIPTION AND SYLLABUS:
[1-4] Examples of partial differential equations, classification by linearity, notion of well-posed problem, elementary methods for solving.
[5-8] Characteristics, equations of first order, classification, solutions in the form of power series, Holmgren's uniqueness theorem.
[9-12] Maximum principles, mean value theorems, monotonicity.
