Description:
COURSE GOALS: Accepting the basic knowledge on internal structure of minerals and its relation with their outer appearance and their properties, acquiring proficiency in principles of symmetry.

4. Non-silicate minerals. Native elements. Sulphides.
5. Oxides.
6. Halides. Borates.
7. Sulfates. Phosphates. Organic minerals.
8. Crystal chemistry of silicates.
9.- 14. Nesosilicates. Sorosilicates. Cyclosilicates. Inosilicates. Phyllosilicates. Tectosilicates.

REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS:
Class attendance, midterm tests, homework assignments.

GRADING AND ASSESSING THE WORK OF STUDENTS:
Midterm tests or written exam for students who did not pass midterms (40%) and oral exam (60%).
