The Department of Geophysics inherits the legacy of the truly important and great geophysicist and scientist Andrija Mohorovičić. This geophysicist, meteorologist and seismologist, is known throughout the world for his great contribution to the beginnings of the development of seismology, primarily as the person who, from measurements, discovered a sharp boundary in the properties of the Earth's interior, known today as the Mohorovičić discontinuity. But his contribution to geophysics does not stop there – on these pages you can find more information about his life and work.
