Mathematics students achieved an...

On April 2, 2022, the 30th Annual International Mathematical Competition - Vojtěch Jarník International Mathematical Competition was held at the University of the Ostrava, Czech Republic. The University of Zagreb was represented by a nine-member team of students from the Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Science, led by Petar Orlić, M.Sc. math.

Participants competed in two categories.

In category I, the condition is that students do not yet attend the third year of university study of mathematics and that they are under 22 years old on the day of the competition. The results achieved by our students in this category are:

Vedran Cifrek - 5th place

Jakov Ljubičić - 7th place

In category II, the condition is that the students have not yet completed their university studies in mathematics and that they are under 25 on the day of the competition. The results achieved by our students in this category are:

Tea Arvaj and Ivan Novak - with the same number of points share 3rd place

Marin Varivoda - 9th place

Tadej Petar Tukara, Lugo Mihovlić and Andrija Tomorad - share 19th place with the same number of points

Luka Kraljević - 30th place

Next competition:

International Mathematics Competition 2022. will be held in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, from August 1 to August 8.

Students who will represent Faculty of Science, Department of Mathematics: Vedran Cifrek, Ivan Vojvodić, Noel Lakić, Marin Varivoda, Jakov Ljubičić, Tadej Petar Tukara, Benyamin Taourirt and Fran Mišković.
